These steps will teach you how to solve each level of concept 4.
Level 1:
Step 1-You begin by using the ratio for tan, y/x.
Step 2-using the magic five after knowing that y/x is √3 you are able to use the point (1/2, √3/2) and multiply √3/2 by the reciprocal of 1/2.
Step 3-Due to the fact that tangent is positive, the reference angles will lie in quadrants 1 and 3. Since the reference angle is 30, you know that the answers will be 30 degrees (pi/3) and 210 degrees (7pi/6)
Level 2:
Step 1- You start off by moving the 1 to the opposite side by subtracting 1.
Step 2- You divide both sides by 2 and get sinx is equal to 1/2
Step 3- With sin x equaling 1/2, we know that the reference angles are 30(pi/6) and 150(5pi/6)
Level 3:
Step 1-The problem is able to be factored due to the fact that it is in quadratic equation. We replace the trig functions with u in order for it to be easier on us. However, remember that we cannot replace the trig functions with u if there are more than 1 trig function in the equation.
Step 2-Start by factoring the problem that is in quadratic notation. and we get 2u^2+u-1
Step 3- Once factored, we have (2u-1)(u+1) which turns into 2cos^2x-1 and cos^2x+1 and use ZPP to set them both to 0
Step4-We begin solving by dividing the one with 2cos^2x and we get that cos^2x=1/2. The other equation sets cos^2x=-1 which we know is 180 degrees (pi)and the cos^2x=1/2 is 60 degrees(pi/3) and 300 degrees (5pi/3)
Level 4:
Step 1-We begin by using the ratio for cosine which is x/r
Step 2- Because we know that, we are able to replace x/2 with m making cosm=-1
Step 3-We know that the ratio for cos=-1 is 180 so m is 180 degrees
Step 4-We solve for x by cross multiplying 180 and x/2, giving us 360
